To me....I don't care if silver goes to $2.00 an oz.....I didn't buy it to turn a profit.....I bought it for other reasons.....if, indeed, the bottom drops out for silver, then I will just buy more.....I don't care what the so called "experts" say......there has never been a time in history when fiat currency was more valuable than silver or gold......

However we are not headed to the past were headed to the future and I think there it will be worthless...

I must of missed it or had too much to drink...point me to it...thanks bro.

When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing

When you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you

You may know that your society is doomed

Agreed. But that only tells us the real value of fiat money. Chartwise, he's absolutely correct. I am buying it as I can as well.

I'm not buying to turn a profit either. It comes down to intentions I guess. I think most of us here aren't looking to get rich, but survive.... For now, I see silver going down as well, but when a loaf of bread is 35 dollars fiat, I'm sure it will be much cheaper for PM's.

Of course, BTT a loaf of bread is 35 dollars here, we're going to look like Zimbabwe....

Nobody knows the exact amount. We will probably never know. Add to that evaporation the losses of wealth in Europe and other industrial economies that trade with the US and Europe.

Lost my brother to suicide after the dot com crash, lost my home and life savings as a result of the 2007 clusterf*ck.

Great post! And welcome!

I'm sorry to hear that too.

Very insightful post, thank you.

What is the reason (in your opinion) that the price of silver has diverged so much from its traditional ratio to gold (~15:1)?

I think there are many fundamental reasons. Here are a few:

A. There are vast hordes of silver and gold that have been stored for perhaps a thousand years by invading armies who ravaged the world. No one knows how much gold and silver exists, nor do we know who owns it.

B. The destruction of the middle-class...poor folks don't buy silverware, they sell it.
(deflation)

C. The revolution in digital photography.

D. The demand for gold in the Third World and the electronics industry.

E. Supply and demand. Evidently, the supply is greater than the fear of
our fiat currency. After three and one-half years of panic, the price of silver
remains well below the post-crash high of $49.00 and the historical high of
$55.00.

Perhaps I should post something regarding this question.

Thanks for responding.
Best wishes to you and the great Americans who built this country.
