EPA 4 Gallon Minimum
Why would he do this knowing well we have a corn shortage due to the droughts?

“Oklahomans have always been adamantly opposed to E15 not only because of its bad fuel economy but because of the detrimental effects E15 has on engines,” he said.

“EPA’s latest move proves they are correct,” said Inhofe.

Currently, only a small handful of retailers are selling E15. However, the large number of blender pump locations in the Midwest could lead to more retailers selling the fuel and more consumers having to face the minimum 4-gallon purchase rule.

As of February 2011, there were more than 263 stations with blender pump dispensers, primarily concentrated in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota.

It is unclear how the EPA will enforce the policy since it did not appear in the final rule. “I don’t know how they’re going to enforce it and that’s the question,” said Moore.

I love my state. In Idaho, there are plenty gas stations that say get your REAL gas here. LOL And it is Real gas, no ethenol. Seems Idaho passed a law, saying it is up to individual vendors of what kind of gas they sell.

Funny thing is, the non ethenol gas is cheaper. By a lot. Like by 20 cents a gallon. Goddamn I love the rednecks in Idaho. They just take it to the federals all the time. Good on them.

No we are not skinheads, and militia asshats.

I currently live in Las Vegas. There are more skinheads, and racist milita asshats here, than Idaho could ever hold.

So it is bullshit!

Perhaps a lot of floride. But for sure a lot of flat land. That can make a man insane.

RE: EPA 4 Gallon Minimum
It appears that this mandate is part of the greater Federal Policy that was established to promote the use and development of the biofuel industry.

Part of the Mandate:
Federal policy has played a key role in the emergence of the U.S. biofuels industry. Policy measures include minimum renewable fuel usage requirements, blending and production tax credits, an import tariff, loans and loan guarantees, and research grants. This report focuses on the mandated minimum usage requirements—referred to as the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS)—whereby a minimum volume of biofuels is to be used in the national transportation fuel supply
each year. It describes the general nature of the RFS mandate and its implementation, and outlines some emerging issues related to the sustainability of the continued growth in U.S. biofuels production needed to fulfill the expanding RFS mandate, as well as the emergence of potential unintended consequences of this rapid expansion.

Initially, the most significant federal programs for supporting biofuels were tax credits for the production or blending of ethanol and biodiesel into the nation’s fuel supply. However, under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS)—first established in 2005, then greatly expanded in 2007 (as described below)—Congress mandated biofuels use. In the long term, the expanded RFS usage mandate is likely to prove more significant than tax incentives in promoting the use of these fuels.

This report focuses specifically on the RFS. It describes the general nature of the biofuels RFS and its implementation, and outlines some of the emerging issues related to the sustainability of the continued growth in U.S. biofuels production needed to fulfill the expanding RFS mandate, as well as the emergence of potential unintended consequences of this rapid expansion. This report does not address the broader public policy issue of how best to support U.S. energy policy.

sorry ethanol is not inefficient, more bang out of it thats why drag racers use it . the problem is the cars (read manuf. and big oil) won't adjust the timing correctly(advance), cause the computers arent allowed to. that why the old timers put moonshine in the tank to go draggin', I do know cause I race. had 12 MOPARS at once running. then got married,by-by cars. and making eth. doesnt take the grain out of prod. for they sell the gluten for feed which is better for them

nothing is ever as it seams, your "truth" may not be my 'truth" for only I have walked the halls of my life, you may have crossed it or glanced into it, nothing more.
