Obama rebukes Romney over remarks
US President chides Mitt Romney over gaffe caught on secretly recorded video, as his Republican rival defends comments.
Middle East peace 'unthinkable'

In another part of the video published by Mother Jones, Romney said that Palestinians "have no interest whatsoever" in peace with Israel, seemingly dismissing the two-state solution, a peace and border plan long supported by the US and other negotiators.

"The Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and ... the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish," Romney said. "I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say: There's just no way."

"The idea of pushing on the Israelis to give something up to get the Palestinians to act is the worst idea in the world,'' Romney said, according to the magazine. Mother Jones did not provide video of that comment.

The comments drew anger from Palestinian peace negotiator Saeb Erakat, who called them "absolutely unacceptable," and provided the White House with fresh ammunition to paint the Republican challenger as unpresidential.

Romney also criticised Obama's foreign policy approach.
(it goes into more, that was in the video but not shown).

Just curious. Does anyone else think Romney is out to FAIL as a winner in this next election?? Serious question.
Also, it looks like this will be the topic on CSPAN from 6-10am this morning if anyone wants to catch any of it. I'll probably watch the first hour, where regular folks call in, not orchestrated.

Editing, I don't know why it was advertised earlier as 6-10, covering Romney when other events are scheduled.

Here is the transcript of the 50 minute video that Mother Jones released. Sometimes it was hard to pick up some words or phrases with the background sounds of the waiters' putting dishes down and all. A lot of clanking sounds. I am wondering if this was a hidden camera by one of the waters or kitchen staff. I can only imagine Romney is infuriated!

I think romney is running to provide israel an absolute assurance of support should the current admin not step up to their plate.

It doesn't matter who wins.

But hey, I'm an aussie. Thing is i see US politics as having a greater effect on our country than our own puppets. Just saying.

Blackadder: Baldrick, how did you manage to find a turnip that cost £400 000?
Baldrick: Well, I had to haggle.

I don't support either candidate. But this video is damning. Check my first post where I edited, I didn't scroll all the way down, but it's supposed to be the 50 minutes that was recorded, in a transcript.

Anyways, g-night!

Obama's "I believe in redistribution" video is equally as damning.

As much as I hate to say this. Romney is right, at least when pertaining to the Palestinian authorities...

Remember when Arafat and Sharon met and Sharon surprised everyone when he agreed to everything Arafat and the PA were demanding only to see Arafat walk out the door and launch a rocket campaign against Israel?

I have met Palestinians and talked with them personally. People. Just like you an me. They identify the problem specifically..

1. Ignorant and uneducated idiots in their country that are easily manipulated
2. The Palestinian authority itself who live like kings off the billions sent to Palestine
3. The radical mullah's who stir up the ignorant...

Palestinian guy I was talking to named Osama [Really cool dude btw] said point blank that until those three are dealt with, there will never be peace in that area...

I told him that this struggle is a global one, and not confined within the border of Palestine to which he agreed, understanding that we deal with similar things here as well as across the globe. Actions of the nation do not necessarily reflect the hearts of the people contained therein... They simply keep the cameras rolling on the ones they wish in order to paint the story lines...

Obama is nothing more than a cold-blooded, calculating and unprincipled usurper, possessing no virtue; no statesman, knowing nothing of commerce, political economy, or civil government, and supplying ignorance by bold presumption.

Yeah, he's right. The "authority" will never give up on the plantation. The ex-leper in The Life Of Brian comes to mind...

Quote:"I was hopping along, minding my own business, all of a sudden, up he comes -- cures me! One minute, I'm a leper with a trade, next minute my livelihood's gone! Not so much as a by-your-leave! You're cured, mate. Bloody do-gooder."

The rate of the flow of the spirit is equal to the elects motivation divided by resistance.
