Painter Margaret Sutherland made waves on the Internet last night with one of her latest paintings: a nude portrait of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The work, which we presume the Prime Minister did not sit for, used to hang on the walls of the Edward Day Gallery in Toronto, but is now dressing a wall in a library in Kingston (where the artist currently resides). In the 60-foot five foot oil-on-canvas painting, Harper is casually lounging in a state of undress. Salient features include the artist’s rendering of his nether regions, a woman serving the politician a Tim Hortons coffee and what appears to be a terrier of some sort.
http://www.activistpost.com/2012/05/goog...a-and.html

According to an article on Blog Tips about Google's Knowledge Graph, immediate answers or "facts" from pre-selected sources like the CIA Factbook, Wikipedia, and the World Bank will be provided in search results along side the organic results:

Instead of using the typical search strength of a particular answer, this new feature will draw 'facts' from places like Wikipedia for historical information, CIA World Factbook for geopolitical answers, the World Bank for economic facts, Freebase for information about people and other predetermined sources.

This move by Google seems eerily similar to Orwell's Ministry of Truth in that search results, or "answers and facts", will no longer be gathered based on the algorithmic popularity of content, but rather selected by Google.

Sure, most would argue that Wikipedia does a pretty good job through its open-source format to nail down basic facts. However, the CIA and the World Bank are organizations with agendas sometimes counter to the truth, and making them the authority on facts gives them tremendous power to shape public knowledge.

Google also explains how it will collect data on you using the Knowledge Graph:

SUPPRESSED BY SCHOLARS: TWIN ANCIENT CULTURES ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE PACIFIC

Suppressed By Scholars: Twin Ancient Cultures On Opposite Sides Of The Pacific

By Richard Cassaro

One of the greatest archaeological riddles—and one of the grossest academic omissions—of our time is the untold story of the parallel ruins left by two seemingly unrelated ancient civilizations: the ancient Mayans on one side of the Pacific Ocean and the ancient Balinese on the other. The mysterious and unexplained similarities in their architecture, iconography, and religion are so striking and profound that the Mayans and Balinese seem to have been twin civilizations—as if children of the same parent. Yet, incredibly, this mystery is not only being ignored by American scholars, it’s being suppressed.

What does archaeology have to do with politics and big business? Everything. This next statement, written in boldface, may sound absurd to you; but please keep reading, then look at the photographic evidence in this article, then draw your own conclusion:

By controlling major academic institutions and the mass media, a vastly wealthy elite group of powerful corporate families is successfully hiding historical and spiritual truths of our ancient past. The goal of this group is to maintain a secretive global system of economic and political tyranny that their forefathers established more than a century ago that was once termed the “Invisible Government” by influential American leaders.

More specifically, this elite are concealing the fact that there once existed a highly-sophisticated “Golden Age” civilization on earth in remote prehistory. This Golden Age civilization ended abruptly, but left behind a powerfully-advanced spiritual doctrine that was later inherited by the world’s first known civilizations, all children of the Golden Age.

The world’s first cultures inherited and practiced this “Universal Religion” via the now-academically-taboo process called “hyperdiffusionism,” a pejorative 20th century term recently invented by the establishment media and academia:

“Hyperdiffusionism — the theory that all cultures originated from one [Golden Age] culture. Hyperdiffusionists deny that parallel evolution or independent invention took place to any great extent throughout history, they claim that…all cultures can be traced back to a single culture.”

— Wikipedia

By denouncing, and thus debilitating, any academic study even remotely related to the so-called “hyperdiffusionist” model of history—a model that was widely accepted by scholars of past centuries, who called the Golden Age civilization “Atlantis”—the elite have successfully kept the Universal Religion out of our reach. In doing so they have prevented us from accessing a deep, self-empowering body of wisdom that has the potential to stir a paradigm shift in humanity which would endanger their global hegemony.

The present article relates a single example of hyperdiffusionism in the ancient past. It’s a revealing look at how the ancient culture of the Mayans, a highly-advanced civilization that flourished on the Yucatán Peninsula in southeastern Mexico, is mysteriously similar to a parallel culture on the other side of the globe, the ancient Balinese, who flourished on the tiny island of Bali in Southeast Asia. What you are about to see is evidence of the Universal Religion on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, apparently handed down by the same Golden Age civilization.

Establishment scholars say the Mayans and the Balinese were never in contact, since they were separated by the Pacific Ocean, which these scholars say was impassible by the ancients. Yet these scholars never offer to explain the profound parallels the two cultures shared. Here are 12 examples of these parallels:

A friend of mine just asked me via PM how I put those images in my posts....the pictures and maps and silly things I love to include.

After typing up a long description on how to do it, I thought I better share it with everyone here so we can all get in on the fun. So, here is my techniques....there may be easier ways to do it, or easier ways to explain how to do it...please feel free to add your knowledge to this thread!

Hi Omar,

Would you be a doll and explain to me how to post images in a thread.
I understand its "photobucket" or something, but I don't know how to do that!

There are several ways to do it...I'll tell you the two I use the most:

1. If you are visiting another site, and you see an image you want to share on the forum or somewhere, you can simply put your cursor over the image and right click. A new drop down menu should appear and you just click on "copy image location". Now the address to the image is saved on your computer (not the image, just the address to it).

Now, if you come to the forum and reply to some post, you'll get the usual window that you type your message in...there is a toolbar just above the place you type...move your mouse over each "tool" to see what it is for...the one that looks like a picture of a mountain and the sun is the "insert image" tool...click on it and paste the "image location" that you copied a minute ago in the box by right clicking and pasting. The location will automatically be pasted into your message area.

You can type above the image or below it depending on where you want the image to show up in your post. I know this all sounds very complicated, but it really is very easy once you do it a few times.

I would print out these instructions so you can follow along on paper while you practice your new skill! One problem with this method: If the image is erased from the original site where you "stole" it, the image will disappear from your posts. This isn't a problem if you know the post is going to be fairly short-lived or if you know the original image won't be erased soon, but if you want the image to always exist, you have to follow my next technique....

2. I use this tech on any image that I really really like and want to save forever, always having it ready to use in a post or email.

First, you need to sign up for a free account at a place like Photobucket.com This is where you will be saving all your images and pictures. You can save all your "normal" family pictures there too, just in case your hard drive crashes or something, you won't lose any precious pictures! I highly recommend saving all your pictures online! You can have a folder for "family pics", and one for "funny pics", forum pics, Fukushima pics, ets...make lots of folders so you don't have all your pics mixed up in one single place/folder.

I've had my Photobucket account for a long time, so I don't remember all the steps to take when opening an account, but it's easy if you have any computer skills/experience at all. If you are using Firefox as your internet browser, be sure to load the Firefox add-on that is offered on PB...they probably have one for Internet Explorer too if you are using that. The "add-on" is a wonderful thing!!! Now, when you find an image you want to "steal", you right click on it and the add-on has added a new item in your drop-down menu, called "upload to Photobucket"!!! Yeehaww!!! Click on that button, and the image gets uploaded automatically to your account! Put it in the correct folder, say your "ION fun images" folder...

Now the image is saved and won't disappear...you will be able to use it over and over again. How? Got to Photobucket, find the image and run your mouse over it. You'll see a new drop down list with several options...just left click on the address in the "direct link" box...that saves the address to your computer, and you can now go to ION and insert the image in the same exact way as I described in technique #1. Again, this all sounds much more complicated than it really is...just practice a few times and you'll be a happy expert, I promise (print these instructions out...you won't regret it)!

Watch this...I'm going to put an image in this PM from my PB account (I keep a tab open all the time so my PB account is always there...open and ready for my use). I'll spend less than 30 seconds putting an image in here....ready???

20 seconds and I'm done!!

Hope this helps anyone who wants to share some pics and images here! Don't be afraid to ask for help or clarification on any point...and please don't be afraid to help out if someone asks a question and I'm not around....I've been busy lately and not online as much as usual. Have fun and don't give up until you conquer this skill!!! -Omar

This has to be unprecedented in IPO circles, particularly of this scale. Faceplant opens its IPO and it flatlined leaving a net gain of next to zero for the day... Wow. The investors are probably soiling themselves right now if they put a lot into it and save a handsome gain next week, I imagine we are going to see some cold feet real quick...

A few of us said this was going to happen. People are wearying of the Facebook thing, and with the amount of interaction with the government, they are also ceasing to trust them. Now the "insiders" as predicted, have made millions from those buying in, but unless something dramatic happens, those buying into the IPO will not be seeing the same results as the owners and insiders and may lose their shorts over it...

Just my take on it... The results today has to be scaring the living crap out of those who bought in. I wonder how quickly we will see them start bailing en-masse
The stock had been widely predicted to soar on its first day. Instead, up until the closing moments of the trading session, Facebook's underwriters battled to keep the stock from slipping below its offering price of $38 a share. Such a stumble would have been a significant embarrassment, particularly for a prominent new issue like Facebook, the most heavily traded IPO of all time.

In the end, the bankers succeeded. When trading on Nasdaq ended at 4 p.m., the social network's stock was up just a hair, 0.6%, at $38.23.
Facebook was also hurt by investors' high expectations of a healthy first-day pop in the price, according to people familiar with the matter. When that pop didn't happen, it prompted a selloff, these people said.
That's when Facebook's underwriters had to step in to support the company's share price, people familiar with the matter said. In particular, lead underwriter Morgan Stanley MS -0.82% was assigned to be the deal's "stabilization agent"—meaning it was the
firm's job to keep the shares above the offering price, these people said. In that role, Morgan Stanley was forced to buy Facebook shares as the price slid toward $38 in order to prevent the price from crossing into negative territory, according to these people.
Morgan Stanley, which led the platoon of 11 Wall Street banks that arranged the listing, had to dip into an emergency reserve of around 63 million Facebook shares—worth more than $2.3 billion at the offer price—to boost the price and create a floor around $38 a share, according to people close to the situation.
A US drone’s missiles had just slammed into a convoy of vehicles in a remote part of Yemen, killing three alleged militants.

The attack—like all other US drone strikes outside warzones—was supposed to be clandestine. Yet within minutes Sanaa-based lawyer Haykal Bafana was reporting the strike in almost-realtime. Just after 1 a.m. on May 17 he posted the following on Twitter:

#Yemen NOW | Missile strike on car in Wadi Hadhramaut. Near city of Shibam. Suspected US drone attack.

As Bafana later explained to the Bureau, his relatives live in Shibam, a town of 30,000. ‘When the drone struck, the town—which was then experiencing a power cut—had completely lit up. My relatives got straight on the phone to tell me about the attack.’

‘No attacks so far’

The day prior to the strike Bafana had already tweeted that drones were behaving suspiciously in the area. Hadhramaut province, a sparsely-populated former sultanate, is far from Yemen’s troubled south, where most of the fighting and US drone strikes are currently taking place.

There has been militant activity there for some years, report locals, and surveillance drones have been active at night since 2010. But until now there had never been a drone strike. ‘But suddenly four or five days ago, my relatives were reporting drones over them in daylight, all the time, which was rare. Militants were also being seen moving about in the area, maybe preparing the way for an evacuation from the fighting in the south. Everyone was expecting something to happen’, Bafana recalls. Earlier, Arabic-language online media in the provincial capital of al-Mukalla had reported that a convoy of alleged al Qaeda rebels was heading north. That news was also swiftly tweeted.

He tweeted the news to his followers.

Raising "morale" and "motivation"

Control of Ketziot Prison in the southern Naqab (Negev) region of historic Palestine was handed to the Israel Prison Service (IPS) from the Israeli army in 2007. The IPS then promised to toughen its handling of the prisoners, according to the Ovda narrator.

According to Addameer, Ketziot, also known as Ansar or Negev Prison, is a primary detention place for Palestinians held in "administrative detention" without charge or trial.

One of the goals of the 2:00 am "training drill" shown in this video was to "raise the morale and motivation for the prison staff," according to Ovda, citing IPS documents.

The video is captioned "Massada Unit Training - archive," which is described as "the most combative unit in the prison service."

The "training" task given to the unit was to search for contraband in one of the prison’s wings.

The use of Palestinians – not just prisoners – as training guinea pigs for Israeli violence did not end with this incident. On 27 March, Rashad Shawakha, 28, was killed in cold blood in an attack on the West Bank village of Rammoun that was part of a "traning exercise" by an Israeli undercover unit.

But as far "as the prisoners are concerned," the narrator says, "the surprise incursion by masked fighters into the prison has only one meaning – a declaration of war."

The prisoners however are "stunned," and resistance is "insignificant." Meanwhile a voice is heard on the video of one of the Israeli personnel saying "the shooting is correct" (3:28) meaning that the shooting we hear in the background is authorized.

"This is not live fire," the narrator says, meaning regular bullets are not being used, "but these demonstration-dispersing measures could also kill."

But of course there was no demonstration to be dispersed. The prisoners had been asleep – in barred dormitories and in tents on the heavily-fortified prison’s grounds – when they were attacked with weapons that Israel authorities refuse to identify.

Bolivia’s ex-defense minister, Maria Chacón, has said that the ALBA school seeks to form leadership cadres for civilian militias. The strategy of “people in arms” has long been promoted by Fidel Castro and Chávez for the ostensible purpose of resisting a U.S. invasion.

But a more immediate role for politically directed paramilitary organizations like Venezuela’s growing Bolivarian Militia may be keeping hard-line factions in power should internal struggles result from an opposition election victory or Chávez’s much anticipated death from cancer.

A Venezuelan official blacklisted by the U.S. government as a member of Hezbollah, Ghazi Nasr Al Din, directed Circulos Bolivarianos teams that disrupted opposition rallies, in many cases shooting government opponents, prior to assuming diplomatic postings in Lebanon and Syria.

The interface between ALBA and its Middle Eastern allies is such that Cuba has used its Russian-built electronic listening station to jam satellite broadcasts by U.S.-based Iranian opposition radio stations.

There are also arms deals with Iran, whose Al Qods aeronautic industries recently opened an assembly plant in Venezuela producing Mojaher-2 drones, which have been offered to Bolivia at discounted prices, according U.S. diplomatic cables published in Wikilieaks.

Most of Latin American isn’t part of ALBA and the prospect of a few failed states conspiring with a Muslim pariah to take over the world may seem comical.

But some of the ideas outlined by Morales in last year’s speech appear to have taken root.

Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuador have expelled the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

Latin American countries have voted unanimously to readmit Cuba to the Inter-American system, scuttling the OAS democratic charter.

Chile’s Defense Minister Andres Allamand reflected regional perceptions of declining U.S. clout, when he said in front of visiting American defense secretary Leon Panetta recently: “If any isolated country was able to guarantee international security in the past, that’s no longer the case.”
